Trudi has been teaching since 1985, and has a 100% pass rate. Trudi currently has vacancies for students on flute and music theory - at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
When teaching, Trudi aims to cover a variety of topics. An average lesson covers:
• Musical theory How to work out scales, rhythmic analysis & note value evaluation, and time signatures.
• Listening to music Discussion of different musical styles & of different instruments in short excerpts.
• Musical expression & interpretation Creating different tone/moods to suit the piece, and realise the composer’s intention.
• Aural skills Singing & pitching notes correctly, listening to tonality as well as cadences and different tonal centres
